2018 Favourite Things Fashion Show

For our 3rd Annual fashion show fundraiser, we pushed hard to make it the most incredible event we'd had yet. In so many ways, it WAS! The largest crowd so far, we sold almost 200 tickets, a gorgeous ballroom, help from the Red Deer Firefighters Charity Calendar fella's, and some breathtaking and emotional moments on stage!

The highlights? The first fabulous moment was when we auctioned off premier seating & drink service compliments of our firefighter friends. A group of ladies pooled together almost $1000 cash just to upgrade to this table! AMAZING!

The beautiful and crazy talented Randi Boulton sang for us and shared a special song she wrote for a friend who faced cancer. It was incredible to have her sing this specific song, because this was the year we had a few cancer warriors modelling on stage with us. Bringing us to the most powerful moment of the night...

You know we're all about body positivity and inclusion. For our 2nd set, we had the models write out some life stuff on large cards, to help them share success and challenges they have faced in their lives. There was one very special lady on stage, Teresa, who went way beyond just sharing her sign - she also decided last minute to bare her full mastectomy on stage. The room erupted and everyone jumped to their feet in support of her! It was an exceptionally beautiful moment to witness, and it brought each and every one of us together in ways I couldn't have imagined. It's been 5 years and people who were there still bring it up when they come into the store. Teresa embodied everything we believe in store - beauty blossoms from our scars.

Thanks to Teralee Flamin who emceed, with Becca Swanson supporting from the audience! We love you both so much! Copper Lane once again offered their hair and makeup services, and Lindsay with Soulbox Photography captured the night for us. (Finally we got the lighting just right!)

The incredible Travis of Calyx Floral took care of the table arrangements and the stunning display around our stage focus - that phenomenal gold frame! And Darcie from Engaged by Darcie once again took care of the backdrop and got us that showstopping frame!

The Chair Tease Dance girls performed their final dance as a group on our stage, so it was fitting to present Natalie with the Calyx arrangement from the stage. We were honoured to have these beautiful ladies on stage with us!

Again we were supported by numerous local businesses as well as our suppliers who allowed us to raffle off over 30 items! But again, the cost of this event was so high we only had raffle proceeds to share which were still just over the $4,000 mark.

In 2019 we decided to take a year off to reevaluate the event. As much as we loved it, the cost at the hotel was just too high. Unfortunately, 2020 brought the pandemic, so we ended up with a few years off. But with our good friends at Cilantro & Chive opening up in Red Deer, we knew the opportunity for a new and improved night of fashion and fundraising was on the horizon!!!

Fast forward to 2022... see the gallery!
