Get a fitting as close to your due date as possible, within a couple of weeks. We don't recommend waiting until after as you may not have the opportunity to go shopping the first few weeks. Although there is no guarantee that breastfeeding will work out for every Mom and Baby, it's best to be prepared. A great first purchase would be a nursing tank top, because regardless if you end up successfully nursing or not, you will still get use out of it!
Expect your fitter to provide you with a bra with room in the cup to be sure you have room for engorgement and nursing pads and still be fully supported.
When trying styles on, play with the snaps to make sure they are easy to latch and unlatch with one hand. Keep in mind that you may end up nursing in all sorts of different environments, so you need a bra that will not cause you more hassle.
Get at least one nursing bra with lace and matching panties! You deserve something that reminds you how beautiful you are, even when you are exposed and feeling frumpy!
Follow washing instructions carefully! You don't want to risk shrinking or compromising the fit. |
